To all bargain hunters:
All Mods shown here are completely handcrafted. I perform the alterations myself and therefore do not have any special purchase conditions. Just the material costs for one iMac CS are approximately between 300 - 400 € !!, excluding iMac and Mac mini! The final price depends on version, colour, setup and more. After a first contact you will receive an offer with prices, specified to your needs.

In my opinion the iPod touch is the number one car-mediaplayer.
Without doubt, there are fabulous solutions in the premium segment, but do you have to hide the iPod touch in the glove compartment?
Operating on the iPod itself cannot be topped by any of the offers in the premium segment.
So far, a turnable cradle with dock-connector and control, which suits, is not available, so....do it yourself!
The base of the iPod cradle and the control are from a Harman Kardon "drive and play 1". The control/charger itself is by Griffin,
and is normally inserted into the cigarette lighter. I transplanted this control into the base of the "drive and play" control
and I installed the unit on the center arm rest.
The core, the iPod cradle itself, is completely selfmade. In any case I wanted to prevent a "plug ulcer" at the dock-connector.
Therefore I had to order a customized 90 degree adapter, to enable the plug to point towards the backside.
Around this tiny PCB I finally "carved" my answer to the former (2008) incapacity of the industry to manufacture such a unit .
This changes right now with the new TomTom car kit for iPod, (not quite...it's already itching again to modify) equiped with GPS receiver, the real "killer feature".
•no visible cables/plugs
•no cigarette lighter compromises
•90 degrees rotation
•only Aux-in on receiver required
My initial intent was to start a mass production, however i had to realize
that I, neither had the connections, nor the necessary money for a mass production.
Isn't it a pity?
Custom production is also senseless, as the price would have to be astronomic -e.g. the tiny dock-connector PCB is at 59.- Euro.
So...this is a unique item!
